I tried the Progenex Belgian Chocolate Recovery and liked it.

The other day I finally got my free samples of Progenex. Three weeks prior I went to their website, signed up for free samples and waited patiently until they arrived. Instead of using them right away I decided to wait until a really tough workout. I put them in the cupboard and somehow forgot about them.

Tonight I knew I had a tough workout, so I went to grab some APS and saw the samples. I wasn’t making a decision one over the other, it was just that I have an open canister of APS and hate to open up to much stuff and stand the chance of it going bad if I don’t use it right away.

I opted for the Progenex Belgian Chocolate Recovery. First let me say that the flavor compared to other chocolates, made by other companies, is way better (All Pro Science, for example which I had a hard time drinking(But APS hase an awesome lemonade flavor read here)) it isn’t chalky and has a good flavor.

As for the product and how it works.

I tried it tonight during my “Barbara” workout; it worked great and kept me going, although I didn’t even get close to RXing the workout. That was mainly because I had done a bunch of ring pull-ups yesterday and my body just said no. One thing I did notice was, that although my legs wanted to give out during the squats, I just kept going. So I count that as a success.

*I know the package says recovery, but I like drinking the stuff during my workouts.

Later this week I’ll try the Vanilla sample and give my thoughts on it’s flavor and effectiveness. I’ll also try and throw in a comparison with APS.
