Bilderz is doing its small part and giving away free ad space to a few CrossFit for Hope Donors.

I waited to write this post until most of you got paid. That’s right I’m asking for cash, but not for me, for kids. If your involved with CrossFit, you already know that they are having a worldwide charity event on June 9th to benefit St. Judes Children’s research hospital (More Info).
To make a long story short, I was invited to attend one of the satellite events being held in my local area by two affiliates, CrossFit Tehachapi and Indian Hills CrossFit. For this cause, they’ve teamed up with the sole purpose of raising as much cash as possible.
My involvement is simple; I plan on competing in the event, photographing it, writing a subsequent article and with any luck bringing in some additional donations.
I know that most of my readers have their own garage gyms and aren’t in the loop, so this I their chance to get involved. What we’re looking for is a small donation, and I promise it doesn’t have to be big. It could even be a couple of bucks.
The official link for my donation page is here. I am personally trying to raise $100, but more would be better.
The way it works is simple.
- Any person who wants to give can visit this link and make a flat donation in any amount they wish.
- Or that person could sponsor me with an amount per rep. For example, someone would promise to donate .10 cents for every rep I did. If I did a 100 reps, the total donation you would make is $10.
- Or if you’re in the area you could come down, participate, and do the workout with us. No experience is necessary. If you can’t do a particular exercise, it will be scaled to something you can do.
- If you’re a loner, don’t have access to a local affiliate in your area, or don’t want to join us (Doubtful), you can even do the workout in your own gym, but be sure to donate a small amount if you do.
It really is for a good cause. If you know, or have known children with a serious illness, you know what I mean.
The info
The format for the event is simple. Participants will complete three five minute rounds of specific exercises in order, with a one-minute break in between. When the timer starts they will do as many of the first exercise as they can in a minute and when that minute is up they will move onto the next exercise. They will do all five exercises in the list and at the end of the round (five minutes) there will be a one-minute rest break, then the next round begins.
The workout is complete when the timer runs out. At the end, all the reps are totaled and an overall score is give.
The exercises are as follows.
1 rounds is
- Burpees
- 75# Power Snatch
- 24” Box Jumps
- 75# Thrusters
- Chest to Bar Pull-Ups
The entire workout will take 17 minutes, which includes two one-minute rests between rounds.
For fun, I did this workout the other night and did a total of 176 reps. It was pretty tiring, but you can scale the exercises to your own abilities. Heck if someone just wanted to participate and he or she had no experience; they could do one of each exercise each minute, rest, and move on, for a total of 15 reps. It’s all up to the individual participant.
The affiliates in our area are asking for a $7 donation for non-members to participate (Of course this money will be donated as well).
A little something extra, free Bilderz.com ad space for a limited number of donors.
To get the ball rolling and to hopefully get some larger donations, I plan on giving away some free advertising on the sites front page. This is of course only for a few of the larger donors. (See the ad spots at right)
For the month of June 2012 (and only June 2012), If someone donates $100, I will place a small 125 x 125 ad banner on this site, in the right column, which will link to their business or other site.
For a $300 Plus donation, I will place a 300 x 250 add in the right column which also links to a site of your choice. The ad will run only for the month of June 2012 and all ads both large and small will be pulled after that.
I only have 4 of the small ad spaces available, and two of the large spaces available. If you plan on donating and want to grab one of these spots, EMAIL ME FIRST! BEFORE YOU DONATE. If you don’t, and the ad space is already filled, your SOL (Shit out of luck). This also must be a Flat donation and I must receive confirmation of the donation before your ad is placed. All ads must be created by you and must meet with our approval BEFORE consideration.
All persons or businesses that donate, regardless of amount, will be listed in the follow up article, but only if they let me know who they are, and if their donation can be verified. If I don’t receive an e-mail with their info, requesting that they be listed in the subsequent article, and a confirmation of what they donated, they won’t get listed.
I won’t put any ads or links for porn, hate or racist crap on the site either.
Oh and I have no problem with an individual wanting to donate a large amount and receiving the free ad placement either. The ad can link to your Facebook or other social media page or blog. Just remember to e-mail me first before you donate if this is your intention. If you have the cash were here to accept your large donation.
Just remember the sooner I receive an e-mail from you or your business, the sooner your ad goes up. And once June 9th comes and goes, so does this offer.
There are also no guarantees as to how many people will see or click your ad. This is just my way of doing something a little extra to help out the cause.
Lets support this folks!
I know you have some spare change around because I waited to post this until you got paid.
I would really love to see you on June 9th, but would be happier if you donated. Heck surprise me and do both.
If you want to be listed in the follow up article as a donor, donate, then send me your info. If you want to grab one of the free ad spots with a larger donation, e-mail me before you donate, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we can work out the details.
See you in the hills or at the CrossFit for Hope event at Indian Hills CrossFit on June 9th.
