Bought these for Mayra a couple days ago from Zappos.com and they just arrived!  These are the new version of Brooks Pure Connect, 2.0. When I purchased these I only found one review by someone with odd shape feet, who didn’t like the fit (go figure).

Anyway version 1.0 got rave reviews, so I decided to take the plunge with version 2.0.  The ones pictured are the ScubaBlu, and are very bright in person. They weight only a little over 5 ounces (5.9 to be exact, as indicated on the brooksrunning.com website, but Zappos shows them at 7.0 oz, hmmm), but for a minimal shoe they do have some support.

2013 is almost here. Did you achieve your fitness goals in 2012? Did you even set any? For some reason I’ve been reflecting, or should I say brooding over how I wish I had accomplished so much more. My thoughts were all over the place “My snatch weight isn’t as high as I want it to be, damn!”  “I’m still a marginal runner.”, “I still don’t look like I could be on the cover of Men’s Fitness”, or that “My WOD times just aren’t on par with the “Elite” athletes out there”.

I love to save my readers time. This week is no exception. Here are ten links to the most popular WOD tracking websites, apps and logbooks. I’m not giving a preference here, so do your research. I have tried several in the list, but understand that each person will want features that I may or may not need or want.  Since I have not tried them all, I can’t give an honest opinion of which I like best, so I’ll leave that up to you. Some offer a free trial, some don’t. If you know of any more, not mentioned here, please add them to the comment section below. If you have used a particular product we’d love to hear about your experience as well.

Here are a bunch of DIY and Purchase links I found when searching for Pulling/Jerk/Technique weightlifting blocks for my gym. At this point I still haven’t made a decision at which route I’m going (build or buy). I’m not going into any discussion here as to which route is better; you can make up your own mind.

I am leaning towards building though, since the price to purchase most off the shelf blocks seems a bit ridiculous.

I am NOT recommending any product or DIY link hear, so buyer/builder beware. This list is just to help you in your search; basically I did the work so you didn’t have to and if you get hurt (DIY), or the product you purchase is junk, you’re on your own.

The links are pretty random but will give you an easy place to start if you want to either build or buy some. This list is by no means definitive, but should point you in the right direction.
